The focus of the workshop is at the intersection of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for sustainability (environmental, social and economic), social behaviour and policy studies.
An intended result of the workshop will be to create an international network for the cross-disciplinary field smart sustainable cities. The intention is for this network to become a leading resource for practitioners in the areas of ICT, policy making, civil society, and business who are working to advance urban development into more sustainable directions through the use of ICT. The network will enable future cooperation and to improve the scientific understanding of the area.
An initial outcome of the workshop will be to generate research themes and ideas that will form the base for international research applications such as Horizon 2020.
